Innovative whitening cosmetics from pineapple peel and lime juice extracts by Sobprab Agricultural Cooperative
The whitening cosmetics combines the two Thai fruit extracts including pineapple peel and lime juice which are the wastes or low-grade fruit from the community crop of Sob Prab Cooperative Limited, Lampang, Thailand. The pineapple peel and lime juice extract exhibit DPPH scavenging, metal chelating and Lipid peroxidation activity. It can inhibit tyrosinase activity and melanogenesis resulting to whitening effect, and also stimulates collagen biosynthesis. The cosmetics can give skin brightening, and reduce fine wrinkles. This product is suitable for all skin types. This product has been financially supported by the Innovation and technology assistance program (ITAP), National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA), Thailand, and has already been marketed in Thailand
