The Hawker Centre Sends Ugly Fruits and Vegetables to Promote Food Waste Reduction (Singapore)
The Singapore SG Food Rescue (SGFR) held a food awareness campaign at the hawker center to distribute the ugly fruits and vegetables to the people who needed, and promoted the mindset of reducing food waste.
The ugly fruits and vegetables in this campaign distributed at least 2 metric tons, such as bell pepper, spinach, watermelon and shallot. All the ugly fruits and vegetables were collected by the SGFR volunteers from the Pasir Panjang Fruit and Vegetable Wholesale.
The participants of this campaign around 352 people and 90% of the ugly fruits and vegetables gave people in 3 hours.
