Problem: Duck egg loss in production due to shell breakage and contamination
Solution: Development and distribution of egg collection boxes

1. Traditional duck egg collection field utilizes an open, sloped, dirt floor. Egg breakage and contamination affected about 2% of eggs collected.
    
2. Egg collection boxes are distributed to separate ducks from eggs. Wire flooring is installed to reduce contamination risk. Egg breakage and contamination rate reduced to about 0.5% of eggs collected. Implemented strategy was jointly developed by the Yilan branch of LRI and Horn Liang Foods, Ltd. In Chinese Taipei.
